OpenAI Introduces Lockdown Mode to Guard Against AI Hacking
OpenAI has launched Lockdown Mode to prevent sensitive data leaks from AI models. While not foolproof, it significantly reduces the risk of prompt injection attacks.

OpenAI released Lockdown Mode, a new feature designed to protect ChatGPT and other AI models from prompt injection attacks. These attacks trick AI systems into revealing sensitive data or performing unintended actions. Lockdown Mode adds extra security layers to make such attacks much harder to execute.
This matters because AI models like ChatGPT often handle personal or confidential information. Without protection, hackers could manipulate the AI to share data it shouldn’t. Lockdown Mode won’t make ChatGPT completely immune, but it’s a big step toward safer AI interactions.
If you use ChatGPT for sensitive tasks, enable Lockdown Mode today. Open the settings menu, navigate to the Security tab, and toggle Lockdown Mode on. This adds an extra layer of protection for your conversations.
